Born in 1913 in Berlin-Charlotteburg (Germany), deceased in 1985 in Basel (Switzerland)

Writer, painter and plastic artist, she participated in the surrealist movement in two distinct ways: as an artist herself, she produced works in which the object and dreams occupied an important place; secondly, she is also the muse of many surrealists and is the subject of many of Man Ray’s photographic pieces.
