Alain Jacquet

French artist born in 1939 in Neuilly-sur-Seine. Died in New York in 2008.

He was part of the new figuration or narrative figuration movements in France.
He later achieved his artistic potential by settling in New York and becoming a major representative of Mec Art (mechanical art). He appropriated images by creating mechanical paintings that revealed the screenprinting pattern (the famous "Luncheon on the Grass" from 1964).
