Antony Gormley

Born in 1950 in London, England,

Gormley describes his work as "an attempt to materialize the thing that is the reverse of the appearance in which we all recognize ourselves."
Many of his sculptures are cast from his own body.
His work becomes the framework through which the voyeur becomes the seen. He has been at the Royal Academy since 2003 and a member of the board of the British Museum since 2007.
