César

Born in 1921 in Marseille, died in 1998 in Paris, France.

César defined himself as "a welder-artisan, completely self-taught."

Earlier in the 1950s, due to a lack of resources, he used materials recovered from landfills to create his sculptures.
In 1960, he participated in the creation of the New Realists, and from that date, he created his first "Compressions," which would make him famous.
