George Rickey

Born in 1907 in South Bend, Indiana, died in 2002 in St. Paul, Minnesota (United States).

It wasn't until 1950 that George Rickey transitioned from painting to sculpture, creating "kinetic sculpture."
Combining the cubic, solid, and full forms of David Smith with Calder's mobiles, he created a body of work that created sculptures, sometimes very heavy, capable of moving in the slightest breeze.
