Marc Quinn

Born in 1964 in London (United Kingdom). Lives and works in London.

Member of the YBA (Young British Artists) group.
His sculptures, paintings, and drawings explore the relationship between art and science, the human body, and the perception of beauty.
He is very interested in genetics and its manipulation.
Most famous for his self-portrait "Self," a cast of his head made from his own frozen blood, and his other sculpture, a portrait of Kate Moss "Siren," in solid gold, exhibited at the British Museum in London.
This ring, a pansy cast in gold, the result of his research on the idea of eternity, which also led him to freeze flowers at their peak of bloom, was produced by the Louisa Guinness Gallery in 2005.
