Parvine Curie

Of Franco-Iranian descent, Parvine Curie was born in Nancy in 1936. After her studies, she traveled around Europe and decided to settle in Barcelona, where she discovered Catalan art. She became a self-taught sculptor, following the guidance of sculptor Marcel Marti. In 1970, she moved to Paris, where Parvine learned the basics of the craft, including carving wood and stone, through her encounter with sculptor Francois Stahly. Her sculptures, which combine figures and architecture, and are strongly inspired by the places she has visited, are marked by clean lines and materials and demonstrate her constant desire to question space and light.

Parvine Curie, born in 1936 in Nancy, is a French non-figurative sculptor belonging to the New School of Paris.
