Michael Craig-Martin
Born in Dublin in 1941 (Ireland)

Attended Yale in 1961, at the same time as Alex Katz, Al Held, Brice Marden, Richard Serra, Chuck Close, and Robert Mangold.
He was greatly influenced by a course on color taught by Josef Albers.
In the 1980s, as a teacher in London, became a significant influence for the emerging YBA (Young British Artists), a generation including Damien Hirst.
His later works have depicted everyday household objects in black line drawings, filled in with bright, primary colors.
