Lee Ufan

Born in 1936 in Kyongnam (Korea)

Artist, writer, philosopher, and sculptor, he studied poetry, painting, and calligraphy.
Nietzsche, Rilke, Heidegger, and Merleau-Ponty are the philosophers who have always influenced his art.

He is the founder of Mono-Ha (corresponding to our Arte Povera), a movement that showcases man-made materials as well as raw materials, using visuals intended to illustrate the intimate relationships that exist between nature and the artificial.
He places particular importance on the symbolism of materials.
