Robert Longo

Robert LONGO - Born in 1953 in New York. Painter and sculptor, fascinated from a young age by the media world, Longo experienced his first successes in the early 1980s. From 1999, he embarked on a new series of works focusing on two main themes. These are terrifying drawings of breaking waves, atomic explosions, planets or white sharks, Werner Spies calls Longo's style a "fatal romanticism". His first jewels date from 2020. This "Bullet hole", an image of a glass surface shattered by a bullet, is a statement and a critique of widespread gun violence.
