Born in 1925 in Port Arthur, Texas (USA), deceased in 2010 in New York (USA)
Major American artist of the XXth century, his first works are monochromes.
Later, he will introduce collages of objects, which eliminates the borderline between paintings and sculpture.
By his performances, collages, scenography, theatrical decor, costumes, ceramics, rugs, and jewelry, Rauschenberg constantly poses the question of the distance between an art object and an object of everyday use, as well as the implication of the artist in any possible dialogue.
